The latest Victoriana earrings to arrive are simply stunning! If like me you like a modern take on classic pieces, you will love the way that the traditional chumke earrings are updated in this range by adding unexpected colours, or perhaps recreating as a smaller drop design what you would expect to see as a traditional large earring.
As ever, some of these have sold even before we had time to upload them on the website. My regulars have learned that if they don’t snap up these pieces as soon as they arrive, they will rue that missed opportunity! The one in the photo was one of my favourites, antique silver chumke earrings with pearl beads, sold within hours of arriving!
If it’s any consolation, new pieces are on order, so watch this space….
In the new necklace sets, I love this beautiful pearl bead with uncut american diamonds -
It has a very classic feel (which a pearl, ruby red and gold combination invariably does), and yet there is an elegance in the design that separates it from the more common traditional settings. The chumke earrings would be fantastic to wear just on their own, especially with a sari. It’s one of those sets you would keep for ever and always be complimented for! I would be more and happy to wear this on the right occasion!
In the same range, the smaller settings are also very elegant. The dark green has turned out especially well, and I am investigating more colours and maybe earrings on their own in multiple colours.
Those pieces are all in an antique gold finish. In true gold, there is a fantastic new american diamond setting in a deep, fuchsia pink which is usually a difficult colour to source in this sort of setting. The shape is very contemporary, yet I could see this worn with one of this season’s anarkali (empire line) dresses as well as with a simple, stylish maxi. We have the same with a white stone as well, which would be a very versatile set, but the pink is especially nice!
And then there are the new pashminas….but you will have to wait for those until I have photos to share! All I’m saying now is that the colours are mouth watering, and if you need to cheer yourself up on a dull grey January day, one of these would work a treat! I have my eye on a deep pink (great with my black winter coat!), or the searing sunset orange which makes me smile every time I glimpse it, or maybe the purple….oh, I don’t know, I’m still trying to decide!
